Contract Outreach Coordinator 

The Contract Outreach Coordinator will oversee the planning and implementation of Texas Legal Services Center’s outreach strategies for its new Virtual Court Access Project (VCAP). 

The incumbent in this position must maintain the highest ethical and professional standards; embrace and support TLSC’s overall mission; and comply with all grant requirements, regulations, standards, and confidentiality requirements. 

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Virtual Court Access Project empowers low-income and rural Texans to engage with the court and increases access to free legal resources and services statewide; this is primarily achieved through our kiosk installations in the heart of local communities and online virtual court resources on TexasLawHelp.org.  

 

OUTREACH GOALS

  • Drive traffic to kiosks by educating the public about their locations, booking options, and overall uses and offerings 

  • Increase the number of people who access and utilize virtual court resources on TLSC’s website TexasLawHelp.org 

  • Drive interest in hosting a kiosk by informing the audience of the benefits and needs within their local community. We intend to establish 250 sites that span almost all counties in Texas, budget permitting. We will have 25 running by the end of June.  

  • Increase media coverage by illustrating the need for the kiosks and how they benefit low-income Texans. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Create and implement a strategic outreach plan aimed at multiple audiences, including: District Court Clerks; community centers and libraries; legal aids and other relevant nonprofit organizations; and kiosk end-users. 

  • Utilize core messaging to craft outreach emails, social media posts, and other outreach materials. 

  • Create comprehensive, organized outreach lists. 

  • Nurture relationships with community partners and kiosk users by providing consistent communication, information, and updates. 

  • Support gathering feedback on kiosk users’ and host site experiences  

  • Mail outreach packages to hosts sites and other relevant stakeholders. 

  • Project manage ongoing daily outreach tasks. 

 

 

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with press conferences, press releases, and outreach to the press. 

  • Assist with social media campaign planning and implementation. 

  • Assist with event planning. 

  • Represent TLSC at outreach events. 

  • Perform other duties, as assigned

EDUCATION
R
equired  

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, branding, journalism, or similar major. 

 

EXPERIENCE

Preferred

  • Minimum of two years of experience in marketing and/or outreach. 

  • Minimum of two years of experience working in or with nonprofit organizations.

KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES

 

Required  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Exceptional verbal, listening, and written communications skills. 

  • High-level organization and project management skills. 

  • Strong time management skills. 

  • Strong interpersonal, networking, and collaboration skills. 

  • Ability to communicate with the public in a patient, trauma-informed, and non-judgmental manner.  

 

Preferred 

  • Ability to travel to locations outside of the Austin area as a representative of TLSC.  

  • Bilingual in both Spanish and English. 

  • Strong industry knowledge and relationships. 

Details and Instructions 

The contract position is guaranteed through August 31, 2023 and subject to continuation based on grant funding (TBD in July/August). 

25-40 Hours / Week | $40.00 / Hour
