As a major provider of online pro se legal materials, TexasLawHelp.org strives to host high-quality content and tools that address the wide array of issues low-income Texans face. TexasLawHelp.org offers advice, legal forms, and instructions on how to navigate the courts when Texans need to represent themselves in the civil justice system or learn more about the law. TexasLawHelp.org is a collaborative effort by Texas legal aid organizations and foundations, courts, and nonprofits. It is managed by Texas Legal Services Center
You’ll work directly with our team to provide online pro se legal materials for low-income Texans. The paralegal student will be responsible for administrative functions such as conducting legal research, creating user-friendly fillable PDF forms, and helping revise website and LiveChat content.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN
TexasLawHelp.org paralegals will gain a high-level understanding of the Texas civil justice system. They will gain experience in the public interest law sector, and they will increase access to civil legal services for low-income Texans by improving TexasLawHelp.org's content. By helping improve the site’s legal content and pro se form library, the intern will gain a deeper understanding of:
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPENSATION
Currently enrolled in an accredited paralegal certification program. A strong background in writing and research is preferred.
This is an unpaid internship. Reporting and oversight available for course credit.
