TexasLawHelp.org Law Student Research Volunteer, Summer 2026

TexasLawHelp.org needs detail-oriented law students at ABA-accredited law schools to help us make sure our materials are current. This is a great way to use your legal education so far to give back—especially if your law school requires pro bono service hours for your degree.

About the Program

TexasLawHelp.org provides free, reliable legal resources like court how-to's, self-guided forms, legal clinic calendars, and a directory of legal aid organizations. The site is managed by Texas Legal Services Center attorneys. We draft articles and guides and regularly update them to ensure users are getting up-to-date legal information.

The Type of Work You'll Be Doing

TexasLawHelp has more than 700 articles and 165 guides explaining the real-life legal topics that affect Texans. You will work alongside Texas Legal Services Center staff attorneys to review and revise our articles and guides to ensure that our website’s visitors are getting plain-language, up- to- date legal information. You’ll annotate content using Legal Aid Content Intelligence (LACI).

What You Can Expect to Learn

You’ll become more familiar with common legal topics, from family law to consumer law to housing law.

You’ll learn about methods for using technology to streamline broad distribution of legal information and resources.

You’ll be exposed to a wide range of civil legal topics while contributing to a trusted resource that empowers millions of people each year. Your work will directly support access to justice for Texans who need it most.
