About the Program
Our Communications team is the creative engine that powers TLSC’s public presence. From shaping our brand identity to crafting compelling stories that reflect our mission and values, we make sure TLSC’s voice is clear, confident, and compassionate. We manage our social media, websites, and fundraising campaigns—creating content that informs, inspires, and drives action. We also lead media outreach and public relations, building relationships and boosting TLSC’s visibility across Texas.
The Type of Work You'll Be Doing
• creating social media posts and graphics,
• updating our website(s)
• designing collateral for fundraising campaigns
• creating newsletters
• updating outreach printed materials as needed
This position is unpaid, but students may seek class credit according to their schools requirements.
What You Can Expect to Learn
Hone your creative skills in real-life scenarios and learn industry processes, project management, and collaboration
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Ability to be flexible with shifting priorities, demands and timelines
• Familiar with Adobe design software (Illustrator, Indesign, Adobe Express, Photoshop)
• Strong eye for design, typography, and visual storytelling
• Basic knowledge of communication principles and practices
• Ability to research, write and edit content
• Experience with social media platforms and an understanding of content trends
