We’re thrilled to announce that our legal kiosk network has grown rapidly, with 15 new kiosks launched this summer and fall—bringing vital legal resources closer to Texans who need them most.

Expanding Access to Justice in Rural Communities
Many of our new kiosks strengthen our ongoing partnerships through monthly virtual Rural Legal Aid Clinics. These kiosks now serve as dedicated equipment for clinic attendees, helping residents in rural areas—who often have limited access to legal services—connect with the support they need. Through these clinics, community members receive legal advice and information on family law matters and other civil legal issues.
“The Legal Kiosk is a valuable resource for our community - a place where anyone can come to find reliable, up-to-date forms and information related to legal needs for free. The access to lawyers for quick questions is a great assurance to those who are trying to navigate a world that they often don't understand.“

Enhancing the Kiosk Experience
TexasLawHelp.org, powered by TLSC, serves as the backbone of the legal kiosks’ interface, making its breadth of guides and information even easier to navigate. We continue adapting the interface and support materials to serve visitors with disabilities, low digital literacy, or access to technology. Every kiosk includes a “Local Resource” feature that directs visitors to additional legal support in their area. We’ve recently upgraded this feature, making it easier for visitors to find critical resources. In particular, we’ve added tailored information for Texas Veterans and survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault, ensuring these communities can quickly access the legal help they need.
“The Austin Bar Foundation and TLSC are creating laptop kiosks for Veterans Service Officers in Central Texas. These kiosks give veterans new entry points to legal aid—specialized intake, resource pages, needs assessments, and direct referrals to pro bono and legal aid attorneys. The access will be critical for veterans with mobility challenges and will let volunteer attorneys serve clients without traveling.”

"This kiosk is invaluable in my office and to our community. It has assisted numerous veterans in working through job applications, helping with researching resources and also assisted in helping guide our older adults through ID.me processes without the concern of personal information storage. The kiosk has assisted a few in legal resources, with the jail being just down the street. We have also been able to assist Homeless individuals with paperwork. Truly an amazing resource for our rural community."
