Texas Free Legal Answers Volunteer

What is your favorite part of volunteering with Texas Legal Services Center (TLSC)?

My favorite part of volunteering with TLSC is the exposure to a variety of diVerent and interesting legal issues as well as learning about the various tools that the law provides toprotect people on a daily basis.

What kind of volunteer work did you perform?

I volunteered with the Texas Free Legal Answers group. I assisted by sending articles from the TexasLawHelp website to clients and managing the queue by withdrawing unanswered questions. These articles give the clients access to resources that can hopefully help them with their issue when a volunteer attorney is unable to do so.

What are your hobbies or interests outside of volunteering with TLSC?

I enjoy tabletop gaming and helping out at the family farm back home in East Texas.

How to Volunteer with TLSC

Volunteering offers you the opportunity to make a difference, in your career and in the lives of low-income Texans.

  • Our program with the ABA, Texas Free Legal Answers, welcomes volunteers on a rolling basis. In this role, pro bono attorneys volunteer remotely on their own schedule.

  • Throughout the year, opportunities with our other programs are posted on Volunteers page.
