Volunteers and their compassion help make our work possible. This week, we're shining a light on one of the incredible volunteers helping increase access to justice!

What is your favorite part of volunteering with Texas Legal Services Center (TLSC)?
My favorite part about working with TLSC is getting to hear from and help members of the community I otherwise would not have the opportunity to meet, and helping them with things that have a huge impact on their legacy.
What advice to have for those considering volunteering?
The people you help are really appreciative of your guidance, and it’s such an easy way to give back to the community – TLSC provides training and additional guidance when you need it, and there are a range of opportunities (even ones that take just a few hours), so you can put in as much or as little time as you want.
What are your hobbies outside of volunteering?
I enjoy running on Katy Trail and volunteering with Dallas Animal Services in my free time.

How to Volunteer with TLSC
Volunteering offers you the opportunity to make a difference, in your career and in the lives of low-income Texans.
Our program with the ABA, Texas Free Legal Answers, welcomes volunteers on a rolling basis. In this role, pro bono attorneys volunteer remotely on their own schedule.
Throughout the year, opportunities with our other programs are posted on Volunteers page.
