Soon-to-be college graduate wished to seal a misdemeanor charge that could have severely limited her career opportunities.
To Whom May Be Concerned:

My name is Trina and I am 27 with two handsome boys. I was in my last semester in college when I reached out to Texas Legal Services Center.
Getting my background expunged was something I always wanted to do, I just didn’t have the money to hire a lawyer and pay for the cost to get it removed. One night I was up just thinking about my future and career, and I didn’t want my record to hinder me from getting the job that I dreamed of. I googled my local courthouse and somehow it led me to tlsc.org.
I scrolled through the website and saw that I could be eligible to get my record expunged or obtain an order of nondisclosure.
With the help of Texas Legal Services Center, I can put the past behind me and move forward with my career.
I called the next morning and spoke with a TLSC attorney. She asked questions and was very helpful. When we ended the conversation, she emailed me the steps right away, and I went to the courthouse the next day to get the information they needed to help with my case. I scanned everything in right away back to her, and she worked up my case in a very timely manner. Everything took a little over a month. The judge approved – now I’m just waiting for my record to get sealed.
