Honoring Veterans

This November, we're honoring Texas Veterans by screening A Few Good Men to raise awareness about access to justice, especially for Texas Veterans. In honor of Veterans Day, special legal events and clinics are being held across the state for Texas Veterans Legal Aid Week (TVLAW). Our program, Veterans Legal Assistance Program, serves veterans all year long. Through this program, veterans receive assistance with critical services not only help them secure their health and financial well-being; it gives veterans the dignity and respect that they deserve.

About Our Guest Speaker

Lieutenant General Gwen Bingham (U.S. Army, Ret.) is a trailblazing three-star General from Troy, Alabama, who dedicated 38 years to military service. A proud graduate of the University of Alabama with two master’s degrees, she held command and leadership positions in both the Continental United States and abroad. She broke barriers as the first woman to serve as the Army’s 51st Quartermaster General and Commandant of the US Army Quartermaster School; Commanding General, White Sands Missile Range; and Commanding General, Tank-automotive and Armaments Life Cycle Management Command. She capped her career in September 2019 at the Pentagon as the HQs, Department of Army’s Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management.

Today, she brings her leadership and logistics expertise to both corporate and nonprofit boards. She currently serves as Chair of Blue Star Families’ Board of Directors and remains active in mentorship and community service. Her many honors include the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, CNN Champion for Change, and induction into multiple Halls of Fame. She lives in Leander, Texas, with her husband, Dr. Patrick J. Bingham.
